Dog sledding with polar dogs
At our farm we have a small kennel of polar dogs but don´t offer tourist tours with our own dogs. But close by our farm, at Sorken, we work with Norse Quest Husky Tours. There is nothing quite like moving across the Femund lake behind a team of dogs who were born to run.
Wildlife watching
Moose, reindeer, and the tracks of larger predators are all part of the landscape. Early mornings and late evenings are the best times to quietly observe.
Hiking & forest walks
Trails and old forest roads lead through pine, birch, and open moor. You can walk for hours without meeting anyone.
Fishing
There is a lot of fish in lake
1 fishing license, 900 lakes, ponds, rivers and streams you can access.
The region is a very popular fishing destination and there are endless opportunities to fish here.
Cold-climate stargazing & aurora magic
With almost no light pollution, the night sky here is spectacular. On clear winter nights, the stars and aurora feel close enough to touch. Winter magic. Bring out your camera to catch the magic view.
Mountain trekking
If you are not faint at heart you can explore mount Sølen (1755 metres above sea level), where you can see all the way to Rondane and far into Sweden. But there are many other mountain destinations worth exploring in the area.
Blokkodden Wilderness Museum
Blokkodden Wilderness Museum preserves houses and compounds, artefacts and cultural memories connected to farming, forestry, hunting and fishing. The Sami culture and productiveness is also given a lot of space. This will give you an interesting insight into the history of the area and the hard life endured in a wilderness area like Drevsjø and the surrounding region.
